Shaanxi independently developed large-scale multifunctional fixed wing unmanned aerial vehicle successfully completed its maiden flight
The reporter learned from Jingbian County, Shaanxi Province that on the morning of September 7th, the large multi-functional fixed wing unmanned aerial vehicle HE-1, independently developed by Shaanxi Huaying Zhongxing Aviation Technology Co., Ltd., successfully completed its 45 minute maiden flight at the Jingbian UAV Special Test Airport in Shaanxi Province.
The HE-1 drone has achieved 100% localization and has full intellectual property rights, with high reliability, low maintenance costs, and high product delivery capabilities Wang Peng, the chief designer of Shaanxi Huaying Zhongxing Aviation Technology Co., Ltd., introduced to reporters that this drone has a mature general aviation aircraft structure, superior platform performance, and module configuration characteristics. The team successfully completed its maiden flight in just 18 months.
The HE-1 drone is the basic model of the Huaying HE-1 series multifunctional aircraft, a fixed wing transport platform drone developed in China with high payload capacity, mature technology, and rapid integration into the market. This aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of 4 tons, an effective load capacity of 2 tons, a wingspan of 16.8 meters, a length of 14.2 meters, and uses a single engine propeller engine with a maximum power of over 800 kilowatts.
Wang Peng introduced that the Huaying HE-1 series multifunctional aircraft integrates transportation, airdrop, emergency rescue, communication relay and other functions, and can be widely used in various application scenarios. After the successful maiden flight, the HE-1 drone will continue to conduct scientific research test flights and is expected to enter mass production before the end of 2025. On this basis, the tonnage H220 large electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOL) developed by the company will also achieve its maiden flight in 2025.
In July of this year, Shaanxi Province issued the "Work Plan for Promoting High Quality Development of Low altitude Manufacturing Industry (2024-2027)", focusing on promoting the upgrading of the low altitude manufacturing industry level. Su Fengxiang, Vice President of the Northwest Low altitude Economic Research Institute, stated that the successful maiden flight of the HE-1 drone is expected to accelerate the commercialization process of low altitude economy in Shaanxi Province.
