China's large and medium-sized fixed wing firefighting aircraft achieve zero breakthrough
Recently, the Emergency Management Department organized China Aviation Industry Corporation to develop and design two Xinzhou 60 firefighting aircraft, marking a breakthrough in China's large and medium-sized fixed wing firefighting aircraft.
In order to accelerate the breakthrough of fire extinguishing large aircraft in China, the Ministry of Emergency Management, together with relevant departments, actively promotes the project approval and implementation of the Xinzhou 60 fire extinguishing aircraft. It organizes and guides China Aviation Industry Corporation to carry out the development of fire extinguishing aircraft models. After three years of research and development efforts, it has completed platform development, water drop test flight, practical verification and other work. It has innovatively developed intelligent systems such as fire scene situational awareness system and auxiliary precision deployment system, and has overcome a number of core key technologies such as the design of stable aerodynamic characteristics for water drop operation of large and medium-sized fixed wing fire extinguishing aircraft and the design of pressure tank gravity water drop fire extinguishing system. It has obtained the first airworthiness certification for fixed wing fire extinguishing aircraft in China.
At present, the Xinzhou 60 firefighting aircraft integrates multiple functions such as water firefighting, fire monitoring, communication command, personnel transportation, and material transportation. It has a maximum water carrying capacity of 6 tons, a maximum personnel transportation capacity of 28 people, and a maximum cargo transportation weight of 3.7 tons. After the installation of the aircraft, it will become the "sharp knife" and "fist" force of China's aviation emergency rescue. The Emergency Management Department will coordinate the layout of two Xinzhou 60 firefighting aircraft based on the disaster situation and practical needs, and leverage their advantages in long-distance maneuverability, large water firefighting, etc., to accelerate the construction of an emergency rescue aircraft system with large fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles in high and low configurations, reasonable layout, and complementary functions, and promote the empowerment of emergency rescue with new quality productivity.
